The category

Made to the operator's spec.

Hotels and restaurants buy tableware differently from retailers: fewer SKUs, more pieces each, a spec sheet instead of a mood board, and a deadline that is an opening date. Hands & Craft has supplied operating supplies and equipment for hospitality projects across more than thirty countries — front-of-house serveware and barware, back-of-house durables, and the room accessories a property is remembered by.

Kitchen and dining is the largest category in our working catalog at 855 SKUs, and hospitality is where most of the custom work in it happens: platters, cloches, bread baskets, cake stands, tea and coffee service, jugs and pitchers, ice buckets, wine coolers, bar trays, cocktail tools, candle holders for tables, and the trays, tissue covers, hooks, and amenity holders that furnish a room.

What operators order

Front of house. Bar. Room.

Serveware: platters, trays, bowls, bread baskets, cake and tiered stands, cloches, and buffet pieces in brass, stainless, aluminium, and wood — see brass trays.

Barware: copper mugs, julep cups, ice buckets, wine coolers, jiggers, shakers, and bar trays, lined for service and engraved with the property mark.

Tea and coffee service: pots, kettles, milk jugs, sugar bowls, and trays in brass and copper with tin or stainless linings.

Table: candle holders and hurricanes (brass candle holders), napkin rings, salt and pepper, menu and card holders.

Room and bath: amenity trays, tissue box covers, wastebaskets, robe hooks, and hardware matched across the property.

How programs run

Spec sheet in, phased deliveries out.

Most hospitality orders reach us through a procurement agent, purchasing company, or the interior designer. We work from their spec sheets, counter-sample in about ten working days, supply mock-up room quantities early, and phase production against the FF&E schedule so the opening is not waiting on a single container. Patterns and tooling are held after opening for replacements and expansion.

Materials follow the operator's reality rather than the rendering: stainless and lacquered aluminium where pieces go through a commercial dishwasher many times a day; brass and copper for bar, buffet, and room pieces that are hand-washed and wiped; wood and marble for presentation. Unlacquered brass is beautiful and honest about its age — it is also not dishwasher-safe, and we say so before the order, not after.

Questions buyers ask

Answered before the first call.

What is the minimum order for a hotel or restaurant program?

200 units per SKU is the published minimum, but hospitality programs are quoted as a whole: a hotel opening with thirty SKUs can include low-count items such as lobby pieces inside the larger order. Tell us the property size and we will structure the program around it.

Are your serveware and barware pieces food safe?

Yes. Food-contact pieces are made with food-grade lacquers or tin, nickel, or stainless linings, lead-free solder, and lead-free brass alloys; FDA and LFGB test reports per SKU are supplied for the operator's file. Bare copper is lined for service in line with the US FDA Model Food Code.

Can you match pieces we already use?

Usually. Send the piece or a photograph with dimensions; we counter-sample in about 10 working days and match finish, weight, and form. Replacement and top-up orders for existing properties are a routine part of the work.

How long does a hospitality tableware order take?

Samples in about 10 working days. Production in 45–70 days for 500–2,000 units; about 90 days for large openings, delivered in phases against the FF&E schedule. FOB Nhava Sheva, or delivered through your consolidator.

Do you work with FF&E procurement agents and designers?

Yes — most hospitality work comes through procurement agents, purchasing companies, and interior designers. We work from their spec sheets, supply mock-up room quantities early, and hold patterns for reorders and replacements after opening.

Which materials can you supply for hospitality?

Brass, copper, stainless steel, aluminium, and pewter in metal; mango, sheesham, and acacia wood; marble and soapstone; and mixed-material combinations. Choice of material follows the operator's washing and handling reality — stainless and lacquered aluminium for high-throughput dishwashing, brass and copper for bar, front-of-house, and room accessories.
