Do I need a sourcing agent to buy home decor from India?
Not for the categories we make. A sourcing agent earns their fee by finding reliable factories, checking quality, and managing communication — the three things a buyer cannot verify from abroad. We solve them differently: published MOQs and terms, a two-hour reply from the production team, photographs at every production gate, third-party inspection welcome, and audits you can read. If you already have an agent you trust, we work with them gladly.
How do you work with sourcing agents and buying offices?
As a factory partner: the agent or buying office consolidates the buyer's program, we quote and produce, and their QC inspects. Commissions are the agent's arrangement with their buyer; our pricing to the buyer is the same either way, which keeps everyone honest.
How do I verify a factory in Moradabad without visiting?
Ask for the SMETA or BSCI audit report (ours is shared under NDA), an ISO 9001 certificate, recent test reports from an accredited lab, references in your market, video of the workshop floor, and a counter-sample. Then book a third-party pre-shipment inspection. A trading company will stumble on at least two of those; a factory will not.
What is the difference between a manufacturer, an exporter, and a trading company?
A manufacturer makes the product. An exporter is any company licensed to ship abroad — many are manufacturers, many are not. A trading company buys from factories and resells with a margin and, usually, without control over quality or timing. Hands & Craft is a manufacturer and a licensed exporter; the people who quote your order are the people who make it.
